SL HYDROSPHERIC LLC TECHNOLOGY
SL Hydrospheric LLC is a group of members with a cumulative experience of over 100 years in the deep ocean.
The primary focus of SL Hydrospheric LLC as an equipment holding partnership for the SLH PS-60 is the opportunity to be the leader in bringing Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS) to the commercial market. The SL Hydrospheric LLC partnership is made up of several seasoned professionals who all share an interest in and connections with the underwater search and survey community and will strive to cement their place as an industry leader and trailblazer in offering SAS technology.
SL Hydrospheric’s PS-60 SAS is a towed vehicle that integrates the deep tow vehicle concept with a Raytheon Applied Signal Technology SAS acquisition/processing system. A power/telemetry pressure housing designed and built by SLH carries up to 2.5 Gbps and can deliver over 600 continuous watts while operating over 10,000 meters of UNOLS .68” cable.
The neutrally buoyant vehicle includes state of the art ancillary sensors such as a depth sensor by Paroscientific and a sound velocity profiler by AML Oceanographic. In addition, a USBL system with integrated emergency release designed by SLH is used. This USBL is a Posidonia system by IXSEA and has demonstrated tracking operations of over 8600 meters range while the SLH PS-60 was at 4400 meters water depth.
